1932 Ford Roadster Project

We took the doors off when we were working on the damaged hinges. When i handed one of the doors to Cal he said that it was way too heavy. So, we popped off the interior panel and found that it was packed with newspaper

Most of it crumbled to dust when we tried to un-crumple the tight balls of paper but we were able to read a small corner of a page with a date in March of 1942.

Lucky for me this car was stored in the semi-arid south west since this paper was stuffed in the doors. If this had been in a humid area the paper may have held enough moisture to cause the doors to rust away. They're as solid as the day Henry made them.

Here you can see how much paper was stuffed in the two doors. The beer cans were added for size reference.
