To use the 1956 Ford pick up brakes on the 47 Ford passenger car spindles, it's best to do some minor modification to the inner bearings. The spindle has a slight radius where the inner bearing rests against it as can be seen in this picture.
If you put the bearing on without modification, it doesn't go all the way on and is prone to sticking when trying to remove it.
So, I wrapped the bearing up in masking tape to keep it as clean as possible while grinding, and I ground a radius on the inside edge of the bearing.
Now when it's placed on the spindle it goes all the way on without interference or sticking.
